What you'll love here.
Shkodra is the centre of the Catholic community in Albania. You'll find the largest Catholic church in the country — St Stephen's Cathedral, long the tallest building in the Balkans. To the west, the city is embraced by Lake Shkodra — the largest lake in the Balkans.
Shkodra sits at the confluence of three rivers — Kir, Drin and Buna — which flow from the lake to the Adriatic. They all meet below the medieval Rozafa castle, 9 hectares at 130 m above sea level, with a view over the city, the lake and both rivers. Nearby stands the oldest Albanian Lead Mosque from the 18th century.

From a friendly adventure to owning an apartment.
Travel is a huge passion, but at some point you "have to" settle down. Albania has everything and more — a magical place with natural beaches, beautiful remote mountains, historic fortresses and glacial rivers. People make excellent red wine here and, combined with Albanian cuisine, you'll find your second beloved country.
I'm 30+2 and it started 11 years ago with a trip to China and India. Then more than 50 countries — Russia from Vladivostok to St Petersburg, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bolivia. But the forgotten Balkan double-headed eagle fascinated us so much that we bought an apartment here through an adventurous journey with friends. Come and listen — you won't be bored.

- → Taxi from TIA — direct to Shkodra · €50 · arrange in advance or take from arrivals hall
- → Bus from TIA — regular service direct from airport to Shkodër · €10 · runs several times a day
- → Ryanair, Wizz Air, easyJet — direct flights from Prague, Vienna, Rome, Milan, London, Paris, Madrid, Warsaw and more
- → Albania is booming — passenger numbers at TIA grow by double digits every year; new routes every season
